Out of the 32 teams in the National Football League, the St. Louis Rams will face a schedule ranked 31st in difficult in 2010.

That gives the Rams, who won just one game in 2009, plenty of hope for the new seasons. The NFL has revealed the game dates and times for the upcoming campaign.

Defending NFC West champion Arizona comes to town Sept. 12 for the season opener. Following a visit to Oakland, the Rams will be at home for four of the next six games, leading up to the bye week Nov. 7.

That stretch starts at home vs. Washington on Sept. 26, followed by a home game with Seattle. The Rams then go to Detroit, return home to face San Diego, head to Tampa Bay and play host to Carolina.

After the bye, St. Louis opens the second half at San Francisco, plays host to Atlanta, and travels to Denver to wrap up November. The December schedule kicks off with two road challenges: at Arizona and at Super Bowl champion New Orleans. The home schedule wraps up with games against Kansas City and San Francisco, and the season concludes with a trip to Seattle.

Last season, the St. Louis Rams only experienced the thrill of victory once. One win in 16 games, a not-so-stellar 1-15 mark.

Looking ahead to 2010, it’s got to be better, right? The Rams know who they will play and where as they attempt to improve on last season’s results.

The National Football League has announced each team’s home and road games for the upcoming season. Dates and times will be finalized later this spring.

It should be a little easier for St. Louis, as the Rams have seven of their 16 games in 2010 against teams that won five games or less last season.

The toughest game appears to be visit to defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans. Also away from home, St. Louis will travel to NFC West champ Arizona. The other six games are against non-playoff teams: San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Denver, Oakland and Detroit.

The Rams will face only two playoff teams from a year ago at home this season, the Cards and AFC West champ San Diego. The rest of the home slate includes matchups against the 49ers, the Seahawks, Atlanta, Carolina, Kansas City and Washington.

Based on the opponents’ winning percentage from 2009, the Rams’ schedule ranks 31st. Only Arizona has an easier schedule based on that formula.
